Lord’s, London
Capacity: 31,100
Main Sport: Cricket
The Home of Cricket.
Just outside Regent’s Park in London, Lord’s is known the world over. As a family who loves cricket it was only a matter of time until we visited. This occured for the first time in July 2024 when we attended the Hundred double header between London Spirit and Birmingham Phoenix.
The nearest tube station to the ground is St John’s Wood but we walked from Baker Street which is only around 20mins away. One of the main reasons for this was to eat at Honest Burger, one of our favourite food chains in London!
The current ground is actually the third Lord’s ground but has been in its current location since 1814. There have been a handful of other events held at the ground but it has remained mostly for cricket. It is the home of the MCC and currently home of Middlesex Cricket Club.
For the Hundred you can get some really good value tickets and we were sat high in the Warner Stand, in an area usually reserved for members. The views were great in padded seats and thankfully on a very hot day, a good amount of shade.
There were plenty of food and drink outlets around the grounds and a nice little shop where we visited before the matches started.
Post match getting out we did find ourselves pretty much running to Baker St again. This was due to a time limit with our train home and nothing to do with the ground itself.
